Riley Crane is a FBI agent. Formerly in the military, her instincts are very good. In her unit, Riley is known for the special ability to blend into a situation, to become a new character. Then, one morning, Riley wakes up and she can’t remember where she is, how she got there, or what character she’s supposed to be. As murders begin to take place in town, Riley must regain her memory and figure out whom she can trust. And she needs to figure it out fast as the killer is aiming for her.Sleeping With Fear by Kay Hooper is the second book in her Fear Trilogy. However, the book offers more than enough information to be a stand-alone novel. Hooper has created her own agency in the FBI, an agency called the Special Crimes Unit (SCU). What makes everyone in the SCU so special is that they all have some form of psychic powers.
This book is a great read for anyone who likes science fiction, a touch of romance, and plenty of action. The story keeps you guessing until the end, and when the bad guy appears, you just have to snap your fingers and go ‘Oh! Now everything makes sense!’

So, I love music, and I love it a lot. I’m primarily a fan of heavier music, as I cannot enjoy “today’s top hits.” But, I still enjoy genres like Indie and Alternative. I attended my first concert on Sept. 24, 2021 in Burlington, Vermont. The artist? Soccer Mommy. Now, I had heard of Soccer […]

But in the shadows, there are people who work around these institutions so that people can continue to further their education successfully in a pleasant setting. Jake Rick is a Castleton University grounds supervisor whose job is to […]
We made it, Mom
I remember distinctly the first time I was asked what I wanted to go to college for. My 6th grade science teacher posed it to our class (I guess start ‘em young, right?), and of course I had no idea. Probably for a lot of the same reasons as most of my young peers, but […]
Letter to the editor: CU, you let us down
I once was a student mentor for Castleton University. Whether it was doing tours for potential new students on accepted students’ day, or texting incoming students in the months leading up to their matriculation, I thoroughly enjoyed passing on my thoughts on why Castleton University was the right choice. I always told them the same […]
From classmates to colleagues: CU graduates start journalism careers
Jay Mullen and Austin Crosier sat next to each other, each holding a notebook. Across the room was one of New York’s candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, waiting for one of the recent Castleton University graduates to ask the first question. Not long ago, these two reporters sat together in the media […]
