Humans of CU
Bridget McHugh is an Area Coordinator for Residence Life. She oversees Community Advisors on campus in Hoff, Adams, and the themed houses and serves in an on-call role overseeing the residents for conduct as well as work orders. She enjoys helping Castleton feel like a community. She originally came to Castleton as a Graduate assistant and worked closely with the Student Government and CAB.
With COVID, her job has changed with less students on campus. She handles quarantine housing, working closely with other Area Coordinators as well as the dining hall, Public Safety, Dean of Students Dennis Proulx, Director of Residence Life Michael Robilotto, and COVID-19 project manager Kathleen Letendre to help students move into quarantine housing and isolation. Her job also entails making sure that residents are following protocols such as the Spartan Pledge and the Mask Mandate to ensure everyone’s safety.
Bridget has taken on many roles as an area coordinator since becoming one two years ago, but her favorite parts of the job are the interactions she gets to have with students and faculty and showing residents the Castleton Way.
