WUIV week

The tradition continues as the eighth semi-annual WIUV began Monday, April 9 and will continue until Friday, April 14. Monday through Friday from 3-6 p.m. WIUV will be having a “Meet the DJ” booth in the Campus Center. DJ’s will be broadcasting live and giving out a number of freebies including; WIUV pens, pins and stickers, said Promotion Director Tirzha Osmun Palmer.

Tuesday night was all fun and games as competitors shot it out to win a $50 pool cue.

“The pool tournament was really successful last year with 22 competitors,” said Seth Tuper.

Tonight will be full of blood and carnage; from 8 p.m. until midnight WIUV will be hosting a Halo 2 tournament in the Campus Center informal lounge, said Tuper.

“It should be really cool, EB Games is donating 5 X-Box’s and copies of Halo 2 and the event is co-sponsored by the U.S Army,” said Tuper.

Thursday night, WIUV will be live at Flubberbusters Nightclub hosting its Black and White Semi-Formal. This VIP party is for Castleton students, but students are allowed to bring up to four guests, said General manager Tasha Turner.

“We will be decorating the club in black and white streamers and decorations, and free food donated from local restaurants, it will be a fun event,” Turner said.

WIUV will host acoustic singer Rosie Huntress in Huden Dining Hall Friday during the dinner hours.

“She’s really hot,” said chief officer Michael Lefebvre.

Saturday from 11 a.m. – 1:30 a.m. WIUV will be broadcasting live from Total Backstage Access in the FAC, broadcasting the show and interviewing bands between sets, said production manager Adam Howland.
