Men’s Tennis

With only one North Atlantic Conference game under their belts, the men’s tennis team is on top of the NAC standings. The Spartans defeated Johnson State 8-1 to take the top seed early in the season.Castleton swept the singles match-ups against the Badgers after Robbie Gray and Jessee Maranda both battled back after dropping their opening sets. The only loss came from the No. 1 doubles match with Johnson’s Neil Perron and Dylan Louko defeating Gray and Jamie Cook 8-2.

Overall, Coach Bruce Moreton’s squad is 4-2 on the season, dropping matches against Norwich and Colby-Sawyer. The 8-1 loss to Colby-Sawyer stopped a three-match winning streak. Maranda took the No. 2 singles match to avoid the sweep.

The Spartans travel to Thomas Saturday for a NAC match-up.
