Weekend Wrap-up

The second weekend of play found more success for the men’s tennis and women’s lacrosse teams.Men’s tennis
The Spartans continued their early season winning streak with a 6-3 win against North Atlantic Conference opponent Johnson State Saturday. The squad won four out of its six singles matches to secure the win. The team will look to continue its perfect record Wednesday when it hosts Lyndon State.

Women’s lacrosse
The Lady Spartans went 1-1 during the weekend in a pair of New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance games. Coach Alison Struzziero’s team defeated Elms College 12-10 Saturday but then fell 19-14 to Worcester State Sunday.
Nicole Bouchard was a driving force for the offense in both games scoring three goals against Elms and four against Worcester. Kate Coniglio also had three goals Saturday while Bailey Emilo had five Sunday. Francesca Mazzola had 11 saves in Saturday’s win and 12 against Worcester.
The squad hosts Emerson College on Saturday.
