Castleton ’Fit Check: Maddie Cirillo
In this series, Lily Doton seeks out fashionable students on campus and asks them for all the details of their outfits. This issue’s edition features freshman Maddie Cirillo in Shein, a gift from her grandmother, and more.
Q. Can you tell me what you’re wearing?
A. So, my shoes are from Nike. These are Shein pants. My long-sleeve shirt is from TJ Maxx, and this tank top is from Rue21… My rings? I got them at craft fairs. And this [necklace] is from my grandmother before she passed.
Q. How would you describe your sense of style?
A. I’m kind of in between styles. I’m going from having more basic style like any white girl, but I’m trying to, like, get into thrifting and stuff, but it’s hard. Not many thrift stores around here.
Q. Do you have a favorite article of clothing? What is it?
A. Actually, these pants are my favorite. I just got them a couple months ago.
Q. Where are your favorite places to shop?
A. I love shopping at Goodwill. Or I find some good finds at, like, Plato’s Closet.
Q. What’s the most recent article of clothing you bought?
A. I found these Levi’s pants at a church sale that were like 20 cents and they’re so cute, I love them. They fit perfectly.
Q. What’s a piece of fashion advice you swear by?
A. Anything that makes you comfortable. Like, if something looks good on you, but you don’t feel comfortable in it, it’s not really going to be as rewarding as something that you feel confident and comfortable in.
