Holiday Candygrams
Although everyone is still recovering from their Thanksgiving food comas, Christmas is right around the corner and Santa is making an early appearance. From Dec. 2 to Dec. 13, the Psychology Club will be selling candygrams in both Huden and the Campus Center.
For $1, the club will deliver a candy cane and a personal message to that special someone’s campus mailbox. And for $3, that special someone will have a candy cane and personal message hand delivered to them and they will also being serenaded with a holiday song.
“Yesterday we sold from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. However, over the next few weeks we will be in the Campus Center at various times,” said club member Chelsea Sheehan.
Although some may find all the attention to be a little embarrassing, what better way is there to bring in the holiday cheer and love? And once the holiday cheer has been spread, the money raised will be helping the group fund their trip to Boston.
“The Psychology Club put this on because we are trying to raise money to attend the Eastern Psychological Association conference in Boston this March. This is the first time the club has done this. We just started selling them on Monday, but we are getting a lot of positive feedback so far,” Sheehan said
Most college students don’t have an infinite amount of money, so club members said they set the price low to give students a creative way to spread the love. As many may remember from the movie “Mean Girls”, everyone wants a candygram from their friends.
“I think it’s a cute and creative idea. It’s pretty cheap and something fun to do for your friends,” said student Shea Hurd.
