Castleton Challenge
On Nov. 6 at 11 a.m., the advanced facility and event management class will be hosting the Castleton Challenge. Willing participants will pay a $5 entry fee, receive a t-shirt, gain access to prizes and raffles and complete a two mile obstacle course on campus.
“The event is approximately two miles and should take about 20 to 30 minutes to complete,” said Sam Bailey, one of the students working on the event.
Castleton has never had an event like this before but there are similar obstacle course series that travel around the country hosting events like this one.
“Ultimately why I’m doing it is just because I got conned into doing it and now I’m just going to have fun with it. I’m not looking to win,” said Hannah Messer, a contestant.
Wednesday Nov. 2 and Friday Nov. 4 members from the advanced facility and event management class will be doing last minute registration in Huden Dining Hall. If you wish to register the day of the race you will need to arrive at 10 a.m. to do so. All proceeds made from the race will be donated to the Rutland Food Shelf.
“We don’t want to give away exactly what’s going to happen during the race, however, you will get dirty, you will have fun and it will be challenging,” said Bailey.
