Trustees approve VSC merger
Spartan reporters to get reactions for next issue
On Feb. 22, the Vermont State College System Board of Trustees voted to merge Castleton University with Vermont Technical College and Northern Vermont university into one Vermont State University.
The decision comes after almost a year of deliberation and will take years to take effect.
The Board of Trustees is ensuring that each school will maintain its campus and identity despite becoming one larger institution.
Presidentw Jonathan Spiro in a separate email encouraged students to focus on the semester at hand, but also said are welcome to come to him with questions and concerns.
Spartan reporters will be pursuing the story over the next two weeks for a more complete look at what it might mean for Castleton, including reactions from students, faculty and alumni.
