Senior softball infielder Tori Swaine sits down for a chat about her career, upcoming senior season, and life.

Q. What position do you play in softball?

A. First and third.

Q. When did you start playing softball?

A. Started playing when I was 10 years old.

Q. What’s the feeling like of going into your last collegiate season?

A. Doesn’t feel real that my softball career is coming to an end. It seems like just yesterday my stepdad was teaching me how to hold a glove and a bat.

Q. What are your goals for the season both personally and team wise?

A. Have the most homeruns in the conference and to remain as close as a team as we are now. More than just a bond. We are family. And I think we can show this new conference what Castleton is truly made of.

Q. Are you planning to stay involved with softball after college?

A. I was invited to enter the second season player draft for professional softball in Alabama this summer. However, my plan this summer was to travel before I started my accounting career.

Q. Favorite meal?

A. Favorite meal is tortellini Alfredo.

Q. Favorite hobby outside of softball?

A. Favorite hobby outside of softball is to travel with my family.

Q. What will you miss most about Castleton?

A. I’ll miss the close community atmosphere here the most at Castleton, as this truly became my second home.

Q. Favorite memory from your time as a player?

A. My favorite memory from my time as a player was winning the NAC championship my freshman year of college. However, overall, I’ll never forget my early softball years with my Waves family, who has taught me more than just softball.

Q. Advice to aspiring softball players?

A. My advice to aspiring softball players: play with pride, play with heart, and play with passion. Take chances and be ready to work. This sport teaches you more than just how to play softball.
