Tim's fantasy tips

So, how’s your fantasy season going? Probably better if you’ve ignored this column all year. It seems like every week I try to pick the most obvious sits and starts and somehow at least one of them finds a way to defy my logic (I’m looking at you Lamar Miller). If it were up to me, I’d be giving three starts and sits for each position every week. But unfortunately I’m not allowed to have an entire page to myself. Maybe one of these days. But for now this little space is all I’ve got, so let’s get to it.

Week 9 starts

Nick Chubb vs KC: Chubb has 18 plus touches and atleast nine fantasy points in each game as the starter since Carlos Hyde was traded. He is averaging over five yards per carry so far this season and gets to face a struggling Kansas City defense that allowed over 100 total yards and a touchdown to Phillip Lindsay in week 7. I like Chubb’s chances to get into the endzone this week.

Greg Olsen vs. TB: G-Reg! After breaking the same foot that sidelined him all of last season, he returned two weeks ago and silenced doubters by securing a touchdown. He made it two games in a row this past weekend with a score against the Ravens. Next week he gets a matchup with easily the worst all around NFL defense in the Tampa Bay Bucs. Cam Newton is happy to have his security blanket back, so expect Olsen’s touchdown streak to extend to three games this week.

Week 9 sits

Kenny Golladay vs. MIN: This one hurts, as I am a Golladay owner myself. Yet with just three catches in the past two games, he’s become hard to trust. Golladay is a freakish talent and a threat to score at any time, but with a matchup against the Vikings, who just held Drew Brees to 120 yards passing in week 8, and a matchup with this years best defense, the Chicago Bears, in week 10, the risk far outweighs the reward these next two weeks.

Devante Parker vs. NYJ: I know what you’re thinking, the Dolphins receiving core has been decimated with injuries, he just had 6 catches for 134 yards, blah blah blah. Don’t chase the points. Parker has teased us with his big play ability and cool name in the past but has yet to deliver consistent production in the NFL. Stash him to see if he keeps it up, but my bet is he doesn’t.
