May 9 marked the second year that Castleton has celebrated National Rail Day and it came at a pretty convenient time for owners of the Castleton Depot.

One in four college women have been raped or sexually assaulted.
It was this very statistic that led Castleton junior Robert Burge to participate in the newly established CSC peer group One in Four when it began last fall.
Burge took a Women's Studies course during his sophomore year at Castleton, upon which his professor, Sanjukta Ghosh, recommended that he join the budding group.

Mounds of dirt and an 8-foot-tall fence still surround it. The sun beams down off its metal bleachers and blinds any passerby in the area. It may not look like much now, but in the fall, Castleton's Spartan Stadium will be ready to turn heads.
Aside from the permanent seating, press booth, restrooms and concession stand the stadium has to offer faithful fans, the state-of-the-art artificial turf will bring about some changes for CSC's fall athletes.

Summer months mean many different things to different people. It used to be about carefree vacation, but that was in grammar school and maybe early high school. For most college students, the true sense of the word vacation is no longer part of summer.
It's all about work, work, and more work, students say.

You may have recently seen seniors who are smiling bigger than ever, possibly having a real good time in the dorms now that their time to move on has come.
Justin Schwartz screamed, "Woo hoo!" when talking about his departure into the real world. He seemed extremely excited to graduate, but was also indifferent on leaving Castleton.

The basketball player receives a break-away pass and finishes his shot with a reverse lay up. The impressive play leads to "ooooos" from fellow players and the few onlookers. There is no crowd chanting, no scorer's table, and definitely no TV cameras.
Player Nick Bennett flashes the same smile he had during some of his biggest high school games.

I know that I am supposed to ramble on about some entertainment aspect, but I think this week I would rather discuss this semester and how our campus has obtained its own Hollywood status this year.
We've had drama, suspense, sadness, and who knows what else has happened behind closed doors.

If one were to set foot in Ellis hall they would be greeted by many different characters and faces of the campus community. But of the students who live there currently, few are quite as interesting and unique as the freshman duo of Ethan Garhartt and Asher Chaffin.
